Information and Order of a Christian Wedding
In Christian tradition, marriage is considered a sacrament and a covenant based on love, trust, and faith in God.
1. Greeting and Processional
The ceremony often begins with a musical introduction, such as organ music or a song sung by a choir or soloist. The bride traditionally enters the church accompanied by her father or another close family member, while the groom is already waiting at the altar.

2. Opening Prayer and Welcome Words
The priest welcomes the attendees and offers a prayer to begin the celebration in God's name. The occasion of the wedding is acknowledged, and the significance of the marriage covenant is emphasized.
3. Reading and Sermon
One or more Bible passages focusing on love and faithfulness are read aloud. Often, the couple chooses a special reading that is meaningful to them. Afterwards, the priest delivers a sermon based on the selected texts and the significance of marriage.

4. Marriage Question and Vows
The highlight of the ceremony is the marriage question, where the couple confirms before God and the congregation that they wish to love, honor, and remain faithful to each other. This is followed by the exchange of vows, which may either be spoken freely or repeated after the officiant. It is a deeply emotional moment that expresses the couple's profound feelings for one another.
5. Exchange of Rings
After the vows, the exchange of rings takes place. The rings symbolize the infinity of love and the connection between the spouses. Often, the priest blesses the rings during this moment.

6. Blessing of the Couple
The couple kneels or stands before the altar while the priest pronounces a blessing over them.
7. Intercessions and Prayers
Afterwards, there are intercessions, where prayers are offered for the couple, their family, and the future of their life together. These can be read by guests or the priest.
